I haven’t been drawing much, I feel sapped…  but I’ve been trying to finish some stuff but even that is going slow…

Ugh, almost 9am and I can’t fall asleep…

Oh, and I’m still working on that Mantis dude…  It’s just going super slow.

Trying to keep up with my new tradition of drawing a page of heads everyday… 

The style of each head is all over the place but I’m experimenting in ways I didn’t try before.  It’s really fun and less restrictive than what I used to do. 

The girl with the axe is a former waitress who was a victim of domestic violence/abuse, and then she took the law into her own hands.  I tried to give her a black eye but that failed miserably.

This is the Mantis.  Something fun I did, I plan on coloring it in that simple animation style…  If I can pull it off.

I’m going to try and draw a page of new faces everyday, just to stop myself from hating everything I’m drawing and keep the flow going. edit: I put a body on the granny cause it seemed like a cool character… I might continue on it and some of the other heads.

I’m trying to get a bunch of presentable work done, so I’ve started on a bunch of stuff all at once, even updating old work I never completed or just sketched…  And it’s turning into a huge clusterfuck of work screaming to be finished.

Another example of work that desperately needs to be finished.  A spin on Little Red Riding Hood…  She’s all grown up, changed her clothes, etc.  The legs were annoying me, and so I ended up giving her some sort of slutty prostitute pose.  It kinda looks like she’s wearing huge platform shoes or has cloven feet…  That was on accident.  Work in Progress.

Another work in progress…  It’s actually an old sketch I had started a long time ago and got lost when my old computer died.  It’s a genie/jinn being summoned by some wayward woman hoping to fulfill some dreams (shes gonna pretty hot looking if I can render it properly).  Originally the genie was supposed to have bits of himself covered in fire, you might be able to see the original lines where there was supposed to be fire…  But the more and more I tried to render the fire, I realised that my skill was pretty limited when it came to making fire.  I’ll probably still try to pull it off, with the help of reference. :\

So this is my new blog…  With it I’m starting to experiment with new styles of drawing that I normally stayed away from.  I’ve traditionally stuck with a stylized realism that deviated enough to where it wasn’t completely photoreal.  Although I still draw/paint in that way, I’m trying to be more versatile.  Hopefully I’ll start working on areas I’m bad at, ie: Environments, Technology,

Heres some (mostly sketchy and unfinished) examples of a different style I’m trying.

Edit:

GODDAMN THIS FUCKING SHIT.  I can’t get the location of the goddamn logo image to align in the right spot and that text logo is gay as shit.  This is gonna have look ugly until I fix it and actually draw a cool logo or something.
